![]() Happy almost 50th Pershing! You have been such a wonderful place for our family. Find 111 real estate homes for sale listings near Sun Blaze Elementary School in Orlando, FL where the area has a median listing home price of 379995. We are very lucky to have Pershing Elementary in our community. I will miss the hugs form the kids and the teachers. Teachers spend more time during the school year with our kids than we do! So I am sad that Pershing will not be a part of our daily lives anymore. The amount of work they do on campus and OFF campus (on their own time, with their own money) should be recognized and appreciated more. I only wish that teachers were respected more in our society. Wherever there are children, there will always be "issues" to deal with.just like at home! But every adult at Pershing has their heart in the right place and their focus is on encouraging these kids to be the very best they can, and preparing them for the future. I have been involved with this school since 1997 and can't say enough about the teachers and administration. I am a parent that just watched my last child walk off of the Pershing campus for middle school. This school needs to implement more structure and enrichment beyond what they are doing. Some of the teachers probably try hard to change the stigma that this school has and I appreciate that, but it isn't working. As far as my overall feelings of this school: If this is your zoned school, I would advise you to apply for a different school. Some of them like to even get an attitude with the parents, I've seen it happen daily. Every single afternoon, I have to get out of my car and approach the workers to find my child because they are never outside doing their job. Speaking of daycare- Dramatic Ed is very poorly run because it is managed by teenagers. Instead of a school, when I walk inside, I feel like it is a daycare. High progress with high test scores means students have strong academic skills and the school is a doing an excellent job at supporting academic growth compared to most other schools. The overall vibe I get from the kids at this school is they do not have manners or a good background at home. Students at this school are making far more academic progress given where they were last year, compared to similar students in the state. ![]() Bullying is an issue at this school, my child is constantly getting pushed, smacked, hit, scratched, etc and I have yet to be notified about any of these events. Communication is not their strong suit, so don't expect much when it comes to events, papers sent home, flyers or notifications. 99% of the staff speak Spanish on any given day, so good luck if you do not. The front office staff seems like they are not experienced, just whoever they can find at the time to fill the spot. This school is probably one of the most poorly organized schools I've ever had to deal with. 390 Elementary School jobs available in Orlando, FL on.
